OLP ORIGIN

​​London. Trafalgar Square. As good a place as any for a transformative moment.

Heavy grey clouds hung over everything, adding to the already downcast mood of a young exchange student who had just been dealt what he thought was a death blow - practically everyone in London had turned down him and his work.

Now there was nothing to do but feed the flocks of pigeons who descended on Trafalgar Square for their daily bread from the tourists - and world-traveling, out of work art directors. But this naive, young artist was about to learn how to turn despair into hope, and rejection into determination.

Ning Li was about to become someone else, and take the first steps on the road that would lead to a host of creative awards (Cannes Lions, One Show Gold Pencils) and living his life based on an inspiration he was about to have. As Ning raised his head, his eyes met an odd but fascinating sight… a one-legged pigeon.

As the pigeon lifted himself over the others to get closer to his next meal, his confidence and determination sent a clear message to the other pigeons - back off. Ning was struck by his defiance and his ability to turn a disadvantage into an opportunity.

Ning never forgot this brief encounter and drew inspiration from it, because nobody has to work harder, dare more and beat the competition like a one-legged pigeon. And from then on… Ning did.

OBJECTIVES

TCL wanted to build awareness to the quality of their televisions during one of the slowest periods in sales - October. Their goal was to avoid the tired techniques of “tech-talk” and competitor bashing. Our challenge was to come up with an original, fun and attention getting concept that consumers could relate to during the October sales slump.



STRATEGIES

Halloween says monsters and scares, So we put the two together and came up with the concept - “What Are The Monsters Afraid Of”. So we designed posters of classic monsters like Frankenstein and Dracula watching a TCL screen looking scared to death. Then we invited users to try to guess what the monsters were afraid of. Captivating art paired with engaging fun turned out to be a great combo. The TCL Halloween campaign made a global impression and resulted in 27,633,533 social media impressions, 3,731,816 post engagement, 11,812 new followers and 94,027 question participants.

OBJECTIVES

When Cultuelle wanted to break into the Korean market they faced unique challenges. Unlike the American market where they trust the man on the street, the housewife or what 9 out of 10 doctors say, in Korea, they trust tried and true local medicines and the caliber of your celebrity matters. The challenge for culturelle : address health concerns during the pandemic, but find a way to appeal to the Korean market.



STRATEGIES

Knowing a celebrity would be trusted and admired by Korean consumers, we chose one of the most popular: Sia Jung, But rather than show the TV star on the set, we knew it would be more appealing to show her at home, interacting with her 9 year-old daughter Seo-Woo, a reality tv star in her own right. We knew Sia and Seo-Woo could assure consumers that Culturelle was a brand as local as their tastes. And the results proved it: 18,540,984 impressions, 46,877 clicks, CTR of 0.51%,

Bosch 18V

OBJECTIVES

We wanted to introduce the Bosch 18v line of power tools as the affordable solution to improve work performance with ease. The 18V line features a one 18V Battery system you can mix and match with whichever tools you need. We wanted to emphasize and illustrate that the 18V would not only get the job done, but would take the workflow to a higher level.



STRATEGIES

We created a concept - “Moving On Up” and produced a shoot whereby a tradesman would go from the basement (bad working environment) to the top floor (better work environment, more pay) - all because he didn’t have to sacrifice quality and time when using the Bosch 18V line. We accomplished this with a smooth, 360 shot going around the tradesman and moving to the next level when the camera came full circle. With “Moving On Up” we portrayed the 18V range as improving the quality of work across different trades and different regions.

UCLA Health

OBJECTIVES

UCLA Health is ranked number one for healthcare in California and ranked third in the United States overall. They are a contemporary, innovative company taking the lead in introducing new practices and procedures. However, their existing branding was flat and reflected none of the excitement and life their company has. Our objective was to make their brand come alive and shine to reflect their company culture and emphasize that UCLA Health is number one.



STRATEGIES

We wanted to create branding that literally came alive, that had movement and drove home the message “We Are Number One”. So we created an animated “universe” with a deep blue background and objects that moved like stars across the sky, directing the eye to the #number one. This textured, high-tech design delivers the message that UCLA Health is healthcare for the future.

TERA

OBJECTIVES

At OLP, innovation is key. As our real world becomes more aligned with the virtual one, we wanted to use all available computer technology to create the ultimate communicator in the online space. Plus, we wanted to create a vessel of communication that represents our diversified world and our commitment to the planet. In short, our goal was to create our own Virtual Influencer to have full control over how they represent whatever brand we use them for.



STRATEGIES

Our first step was to create a profile for our VI - age, race and location for example. And then what their interests were - the environment, fashion art - anything we wanted to in order to calibrate our VI to the brand. And so Tera was born. No longer did we have to worry about a live Influencer being off brand, or technically unable to be inserted into an execution. Tera could do anything 21St Century advertising throws at her.
